Robert Pennington Price American Designer born February 19 1954 Dover Delaware grew up on a farm in Maryland. An artist, designer, hairdresser, antique dealer, beach comber, poet and somewhat of a renaissance man from an early age. A close relationship with his maternal grandmother exposed him to her sewing talent, in particular her reworking of feed sacks into dresses for his sister and cousins. At the age of twelve Nana sat him at her treadle sewing machine and taught him fundamentals of sewing. He produced a draw string marble bag and has been sewing ever since. Robert has an affinity for cutting and sewing vintage textiles into sustainable wearable works of folk art. Simple and primitive shapes are featured sometimes with raw edges and imperfections due to the sometimes lovingly worn fabrics chosen for his designs. Creative reuse and sustainability are key in all elements of his work. Robert sells his one of a kind creations on line: www.assemblage.333 and in person at antique shows across the United States , Round Top Texas, Brimfield Massachusetts, Kutztown Pennsylvania and Lebanon Pennsylvania.
