Antique and Vintage Quilts are works of art. Hours and hours were whiled away hand cutting and hand sewing these masterpieces. As my friend Cheri has said more than once, “If this quilt could talk.”. The patience and craftsmanship sewn into these glorious textiles is invaluable and to be cherished.
Bringing these works of art out of the trunks and backs of closets and hidden attics to transform them into wearable garments is a passion that grows stronger with each design. They should be seen, not hidden away. We believe the Great Great Grandmothers, Great Grandmothers and Grandmothers would appreciate and agree that designing, cutting, and sewing these too often forgotten quilts into wearable folk art is a beautiful way for not only the wearer but all who see them to enjoy them most fully.
